And here I am in my studio apartment hiding away in my bed squeezing my eyes shut, praying I won't wake up and dreaming of where I should be instead
Now I'm afraid I will never escape from this low
It doesn't feel good I don't feel proud at all
The rain can shine the snow can fall I love it all
but I'm drowning and I don't think I can hold myself up after all
I can remember the year I turned twenty and never feeling more alive with dresses and parties, my first taste of love, and big hopes of healing a hurting world
Now I'm afraid I will never escape from this low
I can't smell sweetness no I can't taste salt at all
The rain can fall all around all day long but nothing happens
I'm beginning to think I may never grow
